Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary: koalas, kangaroos and tickets
Updated October 24, 2026 · 5 min read
Allow most of a day if Australian wildlife is a priority. The Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary entry ticket costs from €43.96 and has 4.7 from 415 reviews. General admission covers the sanctuary, regular presentations and standard attractions; food, merchandise, professional photos, animal encounters and TreeTop Challenge are separate.
What you can do
Kangaroo Country allows visitors to see kangaroos and wallabies, with approved food sold on site. Feeding is limited to published periods and must follow staff instructions. Koalas can be observed in dedicated habitats, but a close encounter or professional photo is not automatically part of admission. Book such extras only after checking age, access and photography conditions.
The sanctuary currently welcomes day visitors from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with exceptions including 25 April and 25 December. Times and presentations can change, so consult the official daily programme. The wild lorikeet feeding at 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. (gold-coin donation) is a separate experience, not a substitute for the sanctuary.
Practical limits
The grounds are large and include varied, sometimes steep terrain. The park map identifies accessible toilets and facilities, but not every path suits a wheelchair or pushchair. Ask the sanctuary to confirm the route you need before buying. Paid all-day parking is opposite the entrance.
Arrive early, choose two or three presentations and leave gaps instead of crossing the park repeatedly. Wash hands after animal contact and supervise children closely. Animals may rest or remain out of view, so never build the day around a guaranteed pose.
For most first-time visitors, the standard entry ticket is enough. Add an encounter only when that specific interaction is the purpose of the visit. Compare other Gold Coast wildlife experiences if transport or a guided day matters more than independent time.
